The Phenomenon of Gossip Girl – Then and Now
Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite... And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, GG” In honour of the New Gossip girl reboot on HBO Max and Crave (if you’re Canadian like me), I wanted to bring awareness to the cultural reset that was and is Gossip Girl. In this blog I will not be sharing the fashion in Gossip Girl due to the fact I will soon be doing a whole separate blog dedicated to that. I am currently writing this blog while listening to the GG soundtrack to get some inspo about the 2007 major hit that is/was “Gossip Girl.”

5 Ways to Get Ready for 2022

In 2021 I felt a bit stuck with my routines, mindset, and my overall wellbeing. With the start of the new year I am really challenging myself to start fresh and pivot into a positive, chic productive person. So today, I will be sharing with you what I am doing to refresh and get ready for the new year.

Every day is a new opportunity to start fresh. I see on social media that on Jan 1st you are supposed to wake up early and do these unrealistic things that just cause you to burn out before the end of the first month of the new year. Every minute and every day is a new fresh opportunity. I am so ready for the new year and I am trying to have a positive mindset. Well wishes for 2022!

Let’s get started.

#1 Refresh your routines

My first blog I ever posted was all about the benefits of a morning routine and how to implement one. Routines are very important to ensure you have an amazing day or mindset at least. Your morning routine doesn’t have to be crazy, it can be as simple as stretching or doing your skincare. I have changed my mornings up a bit and here’s how it looks now:

  • I wake up and make my bed
  • Brush my teeth and do my skincare routine
  • Plan out my day and journal using the Doing Well Daily (DWD) X Danielle Carolan Journal
  • Read one page of the book Own It by Dione von Furstenberg

I think getting up without going on your electronics can set your day up right – being in a positive mindset and working towards your goals with a can-do attitude.

#2 Goal Setting

I have found amazing new YouTubers that talk about goal setting and planning! In one video I watched from Renee Amberg, She talked about the 7 dimensions of wellness. I don’t know too much about this but I thought it was very cool. She explained that once all these 7 things are aligned and you work on them, you can really change your life.

  • Physical – Example : What in your physical life do you want to prioritize? For me, I want to get more sleep
  • Emotional — Example : Mental health goals
  • Occupational —- Example: A Job goal or a goal you want to implement for your side hustle
  • Spiritual —- Example: Meditating or connecting more with breathing
  • Intellectual — Example: Your learning goals or anything you want to do to help you grow
  • Environmental —- Example: Your environment goals and your surroundings
  • Social —- Example: the goals you want to set for socializing/spending times with friends

You can interpret these 7 dimensions of wellness however you like. After I wrote down my goals for each section I felt uplifted.

#3 Vision Boards

I have a whole blog dedicated to how I make my boards where I give tips and tricks along, with tutorials. You can read that HERE. When you plan out and visualise how you want to show up and the mindset you want to have it can really be inspiring.

#4 Get inspired!

You can get inspired in many different ways. I become inspired by listening to podcasts, watching TV and movies, or reading books. Finding entertainment outlets that cause you to feel a sense of happiness like you can take on the world feels very inspiring. If you have a fave TV show that makes you feel empowered watch that and gain ideas that you can implement in your life. If your fave show is Gossip Girl and Blair inspires you to be strong, take that and use it for inspiration!

#5 Rest and recharge

In the days after the new year it can be hectic and overwhelming thinking you have to change into this productive person. Productivity takes time and you can’t instantly rush into these resolutions without being realistic.

Take each day and work towards your goals while still being able to take a rest. Chill out and gain inspiration to take on the new year. Go for a walk, have gratitude and reflect on the year we just had. These pandemic times can be very challenging and we need to be easy on ourselves. While you’re resting, maybe watch a new movie.

I have a list of some of my favorite movies and all of them feel inspiring for many different reasons. You can check out my list HERE

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post about how you can get ready for this upcoming year. I personally can’t wait for all the new music and TV shows that are about to drop.

And please, tell me in the comments how you like to get ready for the new year!

Sincerely,

Sadie
