The Phenomenon of Gossip Girl – Then and Now
Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite... And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, GG” In honour of the New Gossip girl reboot on HBO Max and Crave (if you’re Canadian like me), I wanted to bring awareness to the cultural reset that was and is Gossip Girl. In this blog I will not be sharing the fashion in Gossip Girl due to the fact I will soon be doing a whole separate blog dedicated to that. I am currently writing this blog while listening to the GG soundtrack to get some inspo about the 2007 major hit that is/was “Gossip Girl.”

Magazine Spread Current Must Haves

I have been very inspired lately by magazine spreads. In the British Vogue July 2022 issue, Olivia Dejonge from the Elvis movie displays her current obsessions. She talks about her recent music finds like Fleetwood Mac and Tame Impala, her fashion inspiration being 90s Kate Moss, her go-to read, and her favorite fragrance. So I thought it would be fun to create a prototype magazine spread of all the music, makeup, clothing, books, and other products I have been loving for the autumn and winter season. Maybe some of these will find their way onto your holiday wish list, or you’ll want to gift them to a friend. Current Fragrance: My GO-TO fragrance for the last couple of months has been...

All Things Autumn

“Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place.”- Taylor Swift Happy Autumn! It is so nice to finally sit down and write a new blog. Summer is officially over and It was one for the books! I absolutely loved the overall energy this summer, but I am ready to change seasons and have a change of pace. This blog post is a recap and some things I am doing to get in the mood for Autumn! Setting the mood with a perfect Autumn playlist I have been curating playlists since 2015. When I was a self-proclaimed YouTuber in 2014 I loved listening to autumn music and finding new songs through different YouTubers' Spotify playlists. The Fall content from OG beauty gurus in this...

How I Am Preparing For Summer

Summer is here and I am so, so ready! I feel like this summer I really want to live my best life. I am officially in my summer era!  To prepare for this summer I have done my studying – and by studying I mean watching the Gossip Girl Hamptons and Paris episodes. (Fun tip: if you have a fave show, most of the time the first episode in a new season has something to do with summer.)   Here’s my ultimate summer checklist into everything I am doing to prepare for an amazing summer! Update My Wardrobe  This spring, I really wanted to do proper spring cleaning. I looked at the clothes in my wardrobe and truly asked myself questions like “Does this clothing...

Recent Beauty Finds + Makeup Haul

I have always enjoyed makeup products. Recently, I have been finding amazing new products that have sparked my interest even more. These products range from drugstore to “luxury”/ high end makeup. I have collected these products over the last few months and I think some of these picks are highly underrated.  Make sure to write these down for your next Sephora or makeup shopping trip!  I have been using the Sephora Collection eyebrow pencil. This product is only $11 and has great coverage. This eyebrow pencil has a very tiny spoolie brush and makes it easy to brush up your eyebrows. To fill them in I use the other end of the pencil. I find this product to be one of...

The Ultimate Self Care Night In

I have been having “pamper nights” since I was young. I was always into pretending I was at the spa, and that evolved into spa days doing my nails and having foot baths. It’s a pretty strange thing for a 6 year old to want a foot bath after school while watching Hannah Montana! In 2014/2015, I loved watching Anastasia Kingsnorth (aka Floral Princess), Zoella, Tanya Burr and Quisha Rose show their pamper night routines. I remember lighting fake candles and having a bubble bath using a bath bomb from Lush. I think I was about 9. So I’ve had years of experience pampering myself lol. Here are my tips on how to have a perfect at-home self care night.  Get everything...

3 Holiday Gift INSPO Guides

Christmas and the Holiday Season is fast approaching, and I have been seeing many gift guides floating around social media. I have put together 3 different gift guides to help you figure out what to give, or what to ask for yourself!  There’s one for a person who is very chic, one for someone who loves the Y2K and 2000s aesthetic, and one for the person who is Gossip Girl obsessed.  I’ve included pictures for reference and linked the products where possible (where to get these products will depend on where you live.)  If you don't celebrate the holidays you can keep these things in mind for your birthday, or whatever else you celebrate!  Chic Gift INSPO Guide Lauren Conrad Beauty Book (such...

How to Make an Inspo Vision Board

Mood board, inspo board, vision board, collage – whatever you want to call it, it’s one of my favourite things to do and make. I have been brought up in a creative household with my Mom always doing collages when I was younger. Now that I am older, I really love creating different collages for the new upcoming season , a new project or business venture, a future board, or just doing one for fun if I'm bored and need a “pick-me-up.” Whatever is going on, I like to create a simple Pinterest board or make a colourful board that I can hang up in my room.  Today I am going to show you some fun ways you can create a...

End of Season Favourites

Happy October! The change of season brings exciting new things – school, new fall TV, and transitioning into wearing fall and winter outfits! I have been trying new things, wearing new beauty products and changing up my routines. I thought for this blog post I will share with you some of my new favorite products, new routines, book recommendations, podcasts, new influencers I have been loving, music I have been obsessed with, and some new fashion and beauty trends!  I first wanted to share some wellness changes I have been trying to implement. First: I have been trying to not be so hard on myself and have more of an “it-is-what-it-is” mindset. I was watching a new Sabrina Carpenter music video and...
