The Phenomenon of Gossip Girl – Then and Now
Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite... And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, GG” In honour of the New Gossip girl reboot on HBO Max and Crave (if you’re Canadian like me), I wanted to bring awareness to the cultural reset that was and is Gossip Girl. In this blog I will not be sharing the fashion in Gossip Girl due to the fact I will soon be doing a whole separate blog dedicated to that. I am currently writing this blog while listening to the GG soundtrack to get some inspo about the 2007 major hit that is/was “Gossip Girl.”

Summer Book Recommendations

The summer is the perfect time to really dive into a book. The weather is amazing, the sun is shining, and the views of sun rays projecting off the water are always a plus. Today I'm going to be sharing with you some light reads to incorporate into your summer TBR. I have categorized the reads into 3 categories; rom-coms, autobiographies, and general fiction. I'm always looking for book recommendations so let me know if you have any must-read books for the summer season <3  Rom-coms:  People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry.  I loved the writing in this book. It was a really easy read with a feel-good aspect that was enjoyable to read during the summer. A light-hearted rom-com.  Beach...

20 Coming-Of-Age Movies You Need To See!

I often get asked by my friends to recommend movies. I love movies that make me think but also are feel-good rom-coms. I have made a list of my favorite movies that provide joy, hope and laughter. If you take anything from this list, I highly recommend watching Lady Bird, Almost Famous, and 13 Going on 30.  Amazon Prime has some amazing new romantic comedies like Something from Tiffanys and Almost Fate. I feel like good rom-coms are coming back!  Disney+ just released a high school rom-com called Prom Pact, which is so great.  Each of these movies has an amazing soundtrack, so after you watch the movies make sure to add the songs to your playlist.  Let me know if you watched...

Journal prompts for positive thinking and more!

50 Journal prompts for positive thinking, stress relief, gratitude & MORE!  I turn to writing for everything. Writing has been a creative outlet for me for years. Whenever I am in any kind of mood, I put pen to paper and air out all the feelings I am having. If I don't write something down, I will not remember it, so it is crucial that I implement a journal practice at least a couple of times a week, if not every day. I think it is important to write about both the happy times and the not-so-great times. It can give you perspective and help you out whenever you're feeling down.  I have compiled my favourite journal prompts that hopefully can give...

My Favourite Albums of 2022

I have always been into music. But in 2022 specifically, I listened to so much music – a  whopping 20,000 minutes according to my yearly Spotify Wrapped! I leaned on music more than ever to provide comfort when I needed it or just when I wanted to dance.  At the time that I am writing this, the 65th Grammy Awards are this weekend, Feb 5th. Since I was young, the Grammy Awards have always been yearly staple viewing in my household. So I thought I would create my own list of albums that have shaped my year. Here’s my take on the most influential albums of the year and my pick for the ultimate “winners,” old and new. While thinking about all...

Magazine Spread Current Must Haves

I have been very inspired lately by magazine spreads. In the British Vogue July 2022 issue, Olivia Dejonge from the Elvis movie displays her current obsessions. She talks about her recent music finds like Fleetwood Mac and Tame Impala, her fashion inspiration being 90s Kate Moss, her go-to read, and her favorite fragrance. So I thought it would be fun to create a prototype magazine spread of all the music, makeup, clothing, books, and other products I have been loving for the autumn and winter season. Maybe some of these will find their way onto your holiday wish list, or you’ll want to gift them to a friend. Current Fragrance: My GO-TO fragrance for the last couple of months has been...

My Morning Routine Tips

In 2014, Bethany Mota was the summer morning routine queen. Ever since I saw my first morning and night routine video on YouTube I was hooked. I love having routines and sticking to them. Having a morning routine helps you set the day in a positive way. It promotes structure, reduces stress, increases productivity, and more. I curated a summer morning that works best for me – and now that I have a structure in place, I plan to get up a bit earlier every day so I can keep it going into the Fall. In this blog, I will share with you my morning routine with some tips you can use to curate and create a routine that works...

Recent Beauty Finds + Makeup Haul

I have always enjoyed makeup products. Recently, I have been finding amazing new products that have sparked my interest even more. These products range from drugstore to “luxury”/ high end makeup. I have collected these products over the last few months and I think some of these picks are highly underrated.  Make sure to write these down for your next Sephora or makeup shopping trip!  I have been using the Sephora Collection eyebrow pencil. This product is only $11 and has great coverage. This eyebrow pencil has a very tiny spoolie brush and makes it easy to brush up your eyebrows. To fill them in I use the other end of the pencil. I find this product to be one of...
